The Review:
The novel's title, "The Shining," refers to a set of psychic abilities held by one of the main characters. I saw the movie when I was five years old, and it made a lasting impression on me, especially the conclusion, which was incredible for me. I wasn't frightened, but I was proud of the child who was so brave to accomplish what he did because I assumed he was my age, and it inspired me to be strong and brave as well.
If you are a horror fan who has only seen the movie but has never read the book, you should read it and consider it a great gift to yourself because it will take you inside one crazy dark brain and its thoughts that you will never see on the screen.
A masterpiece for horror fans from the master and king of horror. While reading the book, you will notice that the characters are extremely complicated. They all have a genuine vibe to them. You sympathize with a character, a man who can't seem to catch a break, at one point. The next thing you know, you're terrified of him and what he might do to his family. His wife is also far more complex than she appears. You become fascinated with her while also fearful for her safety.
This is a creepy novel that isn't just popular because it was written by the king or because it's one of those fashion statement items that everyone wants to be associated with just to fit in. Instead, this book will send your brain into the creep zone and truly scare you.
