Atomic Habits

Published: 2018
Author: James Clear
Genres: Personal Transformation Self Help, self-help, how-to, self improvement

At the start of this review, I want to ask all the readers to follow the simple rules from this book and apply them to your life for only a hundred days and see the positive effects on yourself and everything related to your habits. This book explains how our habits can change our life from good to worse and from worse to best. We can change our life around by adjusting just a few small habits.

The writer had an accident and it forced him to change his habits to fix his life and in this book, he is sharing his strategies with us. Don’t worry these are not just a few strategies from his time during the recovery; it is full of knowledge for the ones who really want to change their lives.

A few things that you can understand are the effect of being constant. Just keep yourself ready for the best results that come with staying on track. I can use one simple example and that is the feeling and confidence you gain after a few weeks of staying on a diet and training routine. People start asking you and telling you how good, fit, young and attractive you look and then you start getting even more focused on what you were doing and that is actually a reward that you never even thought about when you started doing it. You'll never get tempted to eat fatty foods or any other stuff that may change how you look and feel and that is the power of simple habits and that is what this book is going to teach you.

From the back cover:
“Tiny Changes, Remarkable Results.
No matter your goals, Atomic Habits offers a proven framework for improving--every day. James Clear, one of the world's leading experts on habit formation, reveals practical strategies that will teach you exactly how to form good habits, break bad ones, and master the tiny behaviors that lead to remarkable results.

If you're having trouble changing your habits, the problem isn't you. The problem is your system. Bad habits repeat themselves again and again not because you don't want to change, but because you have the wrong system for change. You do not rise to the level of your goals. You fall to the level of your systems. Here, you'll get a proven system that can take you to new heights.

Clear is known for his ability to distill complex topics into simple behaviors that can be easily applied to daily life and work. Here, he draws on the most proven ideas from biology, psychology, and neuroscience to create an easy-to-understand guide for making good habits inevitable and bad habits impossible. Along the way, readers will be inspired and entertained with true stories from Olympic gold medalists, award-winning artists, business leaders, life-saving physicians, and star comedians who have used the science of small habits to master their craft and vault to the top of their field.

Learn how to:
· make time for new habits (even when life gets crazy);
· overcome a lack of motivation and willpower;
· design your environment to make success easier;
· get back on track when you fall off course;
...and much more.

Atomic Habits will reshape the way you think about progress and success, and give you the tools and strategies you need to transform your habits--whether you are a team looking to win a championship, an organization hoping to redefine an industry, or simply an individual who wishes to quit smoking, lose weight, reduce stress, or achieve any other goal.”

I read a lot of books about human behavior and this book is one of the very few books that I think can actually help a person change if he/she is willing to do it. A great book on self-improvement and I rate it in the top five books that I read on this subject.

The Millionaire Next Door

Published: 2010
Series: Book 2 of 3: Millionaire Set

Genres: Wealth Management, Business Professional's Biographies, Sociology of Class, self-help, how to

The full name of the book is “The Millionaire Next Door: The Surprising Secrets of America's Wealthy,” and is number one bestseller in the Wealth Management genre on the day of writing this review (16, July 2021)

The book basically focuses on interesting finds and surprisingly simple ways and tricks from the authors' years of research on millionaires in America and is going to help you do the same or at least help you learn the ways of these men and women so you too can become a millionaire also if you follow in the footsteps of these people. In simple words, one thing to remember is to do what rich people do if you want to be rich.

The writers did a lot of research and interviewed real “millionaires” and then created this filtered version for all of us to read and understand the secret behind becoming a millionaire and really anyone can become and achieve this goal. And it is not what everyone thinks it is or how a rich person lives, you don’t have to sell drugs or be a boss of a gang. Only stay simple, humble, and forget about what others think about you. Being rich and financially secure is all about your own self and security so you can always have backup money and enough for early retirement.

From the back cover:
“Why aren't I as wealthy as I should be?" Many people ask this question of themselves all the time. Often they are hard-working, well-educated middle- to high-income people. Why, then, are so few affluent. For nearly two decades the answer has been found in the bestselling The Millionaire Next Door: The Surprising Secrets of America's Wealthy, reissued with a new foreword for the twenty-first century. According to the authors, most people have it all wrong about how you become wealthy in America. Wealth in America is more often the result of hard work, diligent savings, and living below your means than it is about inheritance, advanced degrees, and even intelligence. The Millionaire Next Door identifies seven common traits that show up again and again among those who have accumulated wealth. You will learn, for example, that millionaires bargain shop for used cars, pay a tiny fraction of their wealth in income tax, raise children who are often unaware of their family's wealth until they are adults, and, above all, reject the big-spending lifestyles most of us associate with rich people. In fact, you will learn that the flashy millionaires glamorized in the media represent only a tiny minority of America's rich. Most of the truly wealthy in this country don't live in Beverly Hills or on Park Avenue-they live next door.”

A Non-Fiction Writing Machine

Published: July 31, 2013

Genres: Business Writing Skills, writing skills, Authorship, Self Help, how to

A Non-Fiction Writing Machine How to Write a Book in 5 1/2 Days in 3 SIMPLE Steps - A rather long title for a short book, but it is enough to make you into a writing machine for sure. I was searching for books online and saw this title, and decided to read it because of its not so large size and my goals related to writing books. I can say it is going to help a new writer or someone who is stuck at what to do with writing goals. Just give this book a try and surely you'll learn a thing or two, even if you are already writing and publishing books.

Just keep in mind, the writer was very clear about the simple concepts that can increase your speed in completing the book but still, you are the one who is writing, so it won't actually take 5 1/2 days to finish unless you already have a complete story ready in your mind.

I feel it can help a lot of writers who never started a book because of fears and lack of knowledge about this industry. And I can safely say that this is one of the best simple books from the "how-to" genre related to book writing.

I suggest you stop whatever you are writing and read this book from start to finish and take notes of what you feel is lacking from your writing and anything else that you missed in your previous publication adventures.

The only thing that I think is wrong about this book is the title because this book not just helps non-fiction; it can help fiction and any other genre of book writers who are lucky enough to read this book.

Rich Dad Poor Dad: What the Rich Teach Their Kids About Money That the Poor and Middle Class Do Not!

The first financial book you should read if you want to understand the mindset of an actual rich person and the poor person who never succeeds in life, even though he tries and works hard till he can't anymore.

It's been almost 25 years since Mr. Robert Kiyosaki’s Rich Dad Poor Dad was first published and it changed the Personal Finance thinking of many. It is in my mind and still in book charts the #1 Personal Finance book of all time.

The book is really easy to understand and even a person without technical knowledge of how money works can understand it. Almost all the financial mistakes and blunders I see many people around me and the world make are mentioned in this book. It tells how ninety-five percent of the population thinks and because of that stays poor. Everyone wants to become rich but never changes the way of thinking and acting upon it. The financial habits of a poor man are the reason for the majority of us to never become rich. This book makes you realize how you can start to change your "poor man's" habits and start to act financially like a rich man with your hard-earned money.

You get to learn about many things but these are the highlights that may help you decide in buying this book...

Your thinking about the way you spent money before reading this book will surely change permanently.

It can help you teach and build your kids to be financially free also from the start.

Change the concept of saving and investing because that is one of the main differences between rich and poor financial thinking.

Helps you change your mindset to be more financially independent
It helps you understand how to make your money make more money for you. In simple words, make money with money.
Improve your financial intelligence

The freedom of thinking and freedom from money. What actually means is that instead of being a slave to money, you'll make money your slave.

I wish I was able to give more points. Hundred is the max that I can give, but you can add many more zeros to your investments and the way of thinking after you read this book. So here are the ratings...
