Riley Thorn and the Dead Guy Next Door

Published: 2020
Series: Book 1 of 2: Riley Thorn
Author: Lucy Score

Genres: Romantic Comedy, Contemporary Romance, romantic comedy suspense, suspense

I am not a big fan of romance but when comedy is involved then I read this genre. I was not disappointed by this novel because it has no dull moment in it. A loving family that is not so normal but still a loving family and for romance we have a hot single guy. A dead guy and we have romantic comedy suspense.

The writer is very good at this kind of stuff and I recommend all her books. As I mentioned earlier that I am not a big fan of romance but Miss. Lucy Score’s novels are an exception for me. I hope she writes more of these books for all of us to read and enjoy. One great reason is the characters in this book that you will want to read about again in other situations.

I seldom laugh for real but when I do, it is only at something that is actually very funny or dark that many people won’t even understand; this book was one of the very few books that made me laugh out loud. I was on the airplane when I read most of this book and everyone looked at me as if I was gone crazy but the lady sitting next to me started laughing also at one point and then I realize that she started reading the same pages that I was reading. It was a hysterical situation when she told me that she actually peed in her pants while laughing at one page. I hope you laugh like that too while reading this book, but be careful where you read it or you’ll get in trouble.

I really recommend this book to all of my readers so all of you can enjoy and have fun.

From the back cover:
“A nice, normal life. Is that too much to ask? For Riley Thorn it is.
Divorced. Broke. Living with a pack of elderly roommates. And those hallucinations she’s diligently ignoring? Her tarot card-dealing mom is convinced they’re clairvoyant visions.

Just when things can’t get worse, a so-hot-it-should-be-illegal private investigator shows up on her doorstep looking for a neighbor…who turns up murdered.

Nick Santiago doesn’t play well with others. Unless the “others” are of the female persuasion. Wink. He’s a rebel, a black sheep, a man who prefers a buffet of options to being stuck with the same entrĂ©e every night, if you catch his drift.

When the pretty, possibly psychic Riley lands at the top of the list of suspects, Nick volunteers to find out whodunit. Only because he likes solving mysteries not because he wants to flex his heroic muscles for the damsel in distress.

All they have to do is figure out who pulled the trigger, keep the by-the-book detective with a grudge at bay, and deal with a stranger claiming he was sent to help Riley hone her psychic gifts. All before the killer discovers she’s a loose end that requires snipping.”
