The book cover made me buy this book because it looked like a cover of a video game from old times. I had no idea that this book was going to leave me breathless and play with my heartstrings so badly because of some action that is so intense that it actually makes you feel breathless and gasping for air. Really don’t read the book if you are claustrophobic or stop at those pages that make you feel breathless. Take some rest and read again but better read it with an open window or go outside because it is not letting you go till you are finished reading it. I have no phobias and fears but even I felt uncomfortable near the end when those pages start where I am telling you to go out or open a window. It happened to me because I imagined myself in that kind of situation with my huge shoulders. It is not easy to explain the story and situations without spoilers and I am not going to spoil this book for you as with all other reviews I did before this.

The main thing that grabbed me by the heart was the story of the nephew of the main guy. I was very close to my nephew but for some family issues I had to stay far away from him and that was so painful for me because he loved me and cried for me whenever he saw me online, so I never came in front of the camera if he was online. I read this book in those days and that made this book very close to my heart and surely it will do the same to you too. I am basically Sergeant Mark Stiltzer from this novel minus what happened in this book except for the love he had for his nephew. Any why this book reminded me of my nephew a lot and hurt me bad. I wish I can go back in time and be with him again in those times when he was just a baby. Ok moving on before we all cry…

The story grips you from the start and gives you twist after twist and then lifts you up and then turns you over and slams you hard on the grand but still doesn’t let you go.

Mr. David Wiltse writes great action and mixes drama and suspense very well. I love a writer who can make you do what is happening on the paper and the words are becoming reality as you read, like make you breathe hard or even make you stop breathing or make you think you are underwater and can’t breathe. That is called magical writing. Reading this book was pure magic.

Ok, something that I didn’t like was the ladies in this book and I think some of you may think the same for one of them for sure. Please do comment or message me about this girl and what you thought about her after reading the book.

I will not ruin the points just because of a miner bad taste from this book due to the ladies I was talking about because that is what the writer intended, same as I am writing this review and it is in my hands to give the points. So I chose to give 100 points in my nephew’s name. but really this book is worth 100 points and you can surely spend quality time reading this great thriller.

Review:

My most recent review was for the book "Jaws of Darkness," and as I was writing it, I remembered this classic book of natural horror by Mr. Peter Benchley.

My original intention was to write a review of "BEAST," another great book by the same author, but I changed my mind and will now review this book first because it is a true classic and what better way to introduce Mr. Peter Benchley.

I was about four years old, and my brother was about two and a half, but we were both intelligent children who were aware of what was going on around us. My uncle asked if we wanted to go see a movie with him, and we agreed. It was one of the best sea adventures I'd ever had, but it left my brother with lifelong trauma, aquaphobia, and galeophobia. He still can't go in the water, not even a two-foot-deep swimming pool, and he can't sit in a bathtub. And if he sees a shark on television, he has nightmares and can't breathe properly that night...do you get the picture of how terrifying that movie was for him? It was a film based on the book "JAWS."

Update on my brother's condition: Later, my brother devised a fantastic method of watching these types of films: he closed his eyes and watched all of the "JAWS" parts and almost all shark movies.

As soon as you open the book, it grabs your legs and doesn't let go until the last page, and even then you're clinging on to the book, wondering whether it's truly dead. The book sheds light on some things that you can't get in a movie and subplots that were completely removed to focus entirely on the shark, plus there are some differences in the book with missing stories and character traits, and in some cases the reasons for why someone did something in the movie was not mentioned, but you can read about all of it in the book, so if you only watched the movie and never read this book, you must read it and re-live the horror, suspense, and anguish and the renowned background music by the legendary John Williams is the only thing lacking from this book.

FACT: Peter Benchley was inspired by a shark being captured in Montauk, New York.

Warning: Do not read this book at the beach or near a swimming pool.

It may get boring for the people who want action on every page. Keep in mind it is way longer and explains a lot more than the movie that was made out of this novel.

The moment I saw the cover, I fell in love with this book. I know we can’t judge a book by its cover but still, a beautiful cover makes you buy a book faster and this cover helped me buy it very fast. And later when I read the book, I was introduced to a great world created by Mr. Harry Turtledove and I fell in love with his writing style also. I read all the books in this series and got all the books by the writer; reviews to all his books coming soon.

This book is one of the best of this series and one of the reasons is the way main characters reach what they are supposed to be in a huge saga and the development took its time but that is how a character must develop in a long story; in simple terms that are not useful here are “coming of age” it doesn’t mean they were kids or early teens reaching adulthood, I used the term to describe what it’s like to read the stories of these characters realizing their full potential or in some cases become strong and able to fight the reality of the world and situation they are in.

This book is long and the series is long as well, I thought of many options and reasons to give it less than perfect points but found nothing; it is long but not boring. On every page, you are thinking a hero or a person that is on the good side is going to get caught or die. You can actually read this book as a standalone novel because the detail is so great that you get the story without even reading the previous four parts but I recommend you read them all. The fourth part was not so great so if you start this book series from the first book, then please don’t stop at the fourth, because in this part you will start to see the results of the fourth part and going to understand why it was slow or not so fast paced (It is not a bad book, I am just comparing it to this book.)
