Sara Gran

Biography:

Sara Gran is the author of Saturn's Return to New York (2001), Come Closer (2003), Dope (2006), and Claire DeWitt & The City of the Dead (2011), the first in a trilogy of private detective Claire DeWitt books. Her work has been translated into over a dozen languages and published in over a dozen countries. Miramax, Dimension, and Paramount have all optioned her books for cinema. Ms. Gran was born in Brooklyn in 1971 and resided in the city until 2004. Since then, she has traveled extensively and resided in a variety of locations around the United States, including Miami and New Orleans. She is currently residing in California. Ms. Gran worked in Manhattan bookshops like Shakespeare & Co, The Strand, and Housing Works, as well as selling old and rare books on her own, before making a living as a writer.
