Biography
Paulo Coelho was born in 1947 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, and is the author of "The Alchemist." He has become one of the most widely read authors in the world today, having written 30 books that have sold over 320 million copies in 170 countries. Since 2007, Paulo Coelho has served as a UN Messenger of Peace, allowing him to continue to promote intercultural understanding and children's needs.
To mention a few, he has collected over 115 awards and accolades, including that of the Hans Christian Andersen Award, the Grinzane Cavour Book Award, and the Chevalier de l'Ordre National de la Légion d'Honneur.
