Biography

Khaled Hosseini is one of the most well-known and well-liked authors in the world, with over 38 million copies of his works sold in over 70 countries. The Kite Runner was a blockbuster film, and The Times, Daily Telegraph, and Guardian named it Book of the Decade. Richard & Judy's Best Read of the Year in 2008 was A Thousand Splendid Suns. Hosseini is also the founder of The Khaled Hosseini Foundation, a non-profit organization that offers humanitarian aid to Afghans. He is also a Goodwill Envoy to the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees and the UN Refugee Agency. He was born in the Afghan capital of Kabul and now resides in northern California.
