Dave Eggers

Biography

Dave Eggers is the author of eight books, the most recent being Your Fathers, Where Are They? Do Prophets Live Forever?, The Circle, and A Hologram for the King, which was a nominee for the National Book Award in 2012. McSweeney's is a San Francisco-based independent publishing company that publishes books, a quarterly journal of new writing (McSweeney's Quarterly Concern), and The Believer, a monthly magazine.

Voice of Witness, a non-profit book series that uses oral history to promote awareness of worldwide human rights challenges, is also published by McSweeney's. Eggers is the co-founder of 826 National, a network of eight tutoring centers around the country, as well as ScholarMatch, a nonprofit that connects students with resources, schools, and benefactors to help them achieve their educational goals.
